Epitome, The – Maximum Adrenaline / Earthquake 12Inch

From what I understand, this group, Epitome is made up of two members of Kali Wild, Oh No & Sauna, which is kind of confusing, raising the question as to why Stones Throw didn’t just market this 12″ as Kali Wild. Nevertheless, with Madlib’s production behind it, “Maximum Adrenaline” is the return of his Likwit sound, as some were scared away by the experimental stylings of Quasimoto. Freaking a Twilight Zone sample, and an ever-so-live Kali Wild on the mic, this track is a definite sure shot. B-side didn’t do grab me quite as much, but only cuz the A-side is so fresh. While they still are young, these kids are maturing into another impressive crew from the left coast.
