How long has it been since rumors of the Ghostface & MF Doom album had been announced? Let’s put it this way: we we’re running a flourishing record store at the time. Since it’s announcement in say, 2005, we’ve seen numerous titles thrown around, such as Swift & Changable, Ghostdoom, and Ghoststarks. While the two have collaborated numerous times, even releasing a single in 2006, not to mention the title track to the Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars soundtrack, Doom has stated that a lack of proper funding has delayed the release. Lack of funding in the music industry? Imagine that.

Tonight, Nature Sounds head Devin Horwitz released some gory details via Twitter tonight, suggesting the album is coming in a “Q&A” session with the fans. One fan asked “When is the GhostDoom album coming”, he replied, “Very Soon”. Another asked, “What is the hold up on the Ghost Doom album”, to which he answered “What makes you think something is holding it up”? Truly, it’s suspended in mid-air. The most revealing tweet however was the proposed Nature Sounds release schedule for 2010, which read like this: “Hell Razah, Masta Killa, RA the Rugged Man, Scram Jones, Ayatollah, GhostDOOM (fingers crossed)…”

Fingers crossed indeed. Last reports suggest Doom will produce the whole thing, aside from one J. Dilla track. The album will be distributed by Nature Sounds in the U.S. and Lex Records in the U.K.
