Big Boi released the following info via Twitter this morning… His oft-delayed LP, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, will finally see release via Def Jam, thanks to a new deal he just signed with the label. And we seriously thought it was going to take an Andre 3000 solo disc to be packaged with it to get this album out.

I hope Def Jam will put it out as is but they are Def Jam so they’ll probably add a bunch of wack shit and take off a bunch of good shit. That’s if they release it all.

I understand rappers wanting to wait for the right label situation to drop their album, but does Big Boi really think that waiting three years for the right deal is gonna help him? If he’d released this in ’07 on any label he woulda gone gold, maintained his relevance, and then he coulda still signed to Def Jam and released another album. Instead, while he was waiting for the perfect deal everyone stopped giving a shit about him and he’ll be lucky to sell 200k.
