In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, The Beastie Boys said they hope to release their next LP, Hot Sauce Committee in the fall. The album was originally set to be released in the fall of 2009, but was delayed due to Adam Yauch’s diagnosis with salivary gland cancer. The album includes a collaboration with Nas called “Too Many Rappers”.

“We’ve been letting it age,” Mike D told Rolling Stone. “The writing is the growing of the grapes, and we’ve already macerated, and at this point, it’s been living in a barrel and being stored in bottles in the cellar, and hopefully by September, we will uncork.”

However they also implied that they will fine tune the record a bit before it’s release, settling on 16 or 17 tracks for the final cut.

“Hopefully it’s gone from being a very good wine with a lot of promise to being a fully refined and fully developed wine for consumption. The finest French Burgundies only get better in time, and only show their real selves and real complexity with a great deal of time, so we can only hope that time will tell [for Hot Sauce],” he added.

D also noted however they are most concerned with Yauch’s health, and will release the record depending on his state.

“We make plans and change those plans based on what Adam’s got to do,” he said. “Our real priority is for him to heal.”
