T’was December 2007.The Frank Lucas biopic American Gangster starring Denzel Washington had recently been released and Jay-Z was tapped to provide the theme music. The movie ended up being a success, even with the questionable selection of Cuba Gooding Jr. to play Nicky Barnes. The album released by Jay Z,also named American Gangster worked as both a movie soundtrack and as an official Jigga album release. The album did well, giving us the singles;”Roc Boys (And The Winner Is)” and the club anthem “I Know”.

As with every big album that drops, inevitably a million remix albums follow, most of which usually flat out suck. However,American Gangster brought about a bevy of strong and dope remixes. So,leafing through a collection of old music, the dopest and most likely slept on remix of American Gangster was found.Enjoy ya’ll.Download link is below.

dude I think you should definately give Astronote’s remix album a check, it is more than worth the time and in my opinion, several joints in there ended up sounding twice as better with astro’s original beats on. Astronote’s a french producer and he teamed with talib for a notorious big remix project that is also good but not AS good as this killer remix album. Try it
