We promised when we got to 1000 Facebook fans we’d dig in the archives and find something cool to treat you with. We’ll keep doing this every 1000 fans, and these things will get cooler as the traffic grows, but we’re starting off with a classic that some of you might remember. One night in around 1997 (or maybe 1998), a trio of rising stars took over the Hot 97 airwaves and freestyled for a half-an-hour straight. What was great about this was that Canibus had a HUGE buzz at the time, and proceeded to embarass both X and Nore, who struggled to keep up with him. It’s ironic that Nore and DMX went on to be bigger “stars” than ‘Bus, but here was a brief moment in time when it seemed like he’d surpass them all.
