It’s a little strange that Jay-Z has never collaborated with Pete Rock, isn’t it? At least not legally. There was ONE instance where the two collaborated, and that was for Pete’s Future Flavors radio show that found Jigga rhyming over a track from the Chocolate Boy Wonder, around the release of In My Lifetime. Billboard reports that Jay-Z and Kanye have selected a Pete Rock track for their Watch The Throne LP, due next year.

“It was great to hear Jay over a Pete Rock beat. Wow. He says my name on the sh*t and everything,” Pete says excitedly.
