DJ Premier revealed on his Live From HeadQCourterz Radio show this weekend that the godfather of hip-hop, Kool Herc, is in the hospital with a “bad health condition.” Details were scarce, but he needs an operation and is without health insurance. Donations can be made via:

You mean to tell me with all of these millionaire rap stars and to my knowledge not one has made any reference to a man who helped define and shape the renaissance of black culture in the latter part of the 20th century…sad that we live in age with telecommunication nealy in every capacity of a gadget that there is no news about Kool Herc.
