  5. Dayz says:

@ TomL & khordkutta, silly question but how was this??? Dope I know but I haven’t been home yet to download it yet!

  6. DJ Hector V says:

NICE….& just in time for the weekend, thx Pizzo!!

  7. Dayz says:

Yea man I got my Bachelor party this weekend and definitely gonna upload this to the ipod and have this in the car for the ride!

  8. TomL says:

@Dayz It definitely brings you back to the early 90′s, as the tracks chosen are all similar in sound and feel. Personally I would have switched out a ton of these tracks for ones that I felt were representing the artists better. Another thought that comes to mind is that hip hop (as a whole) doesn’t age very well and that is felt here. The production is on point and it’s hard to really tell a difference between this and any of the better mixtapes that came out during that era.

I think Celph’s tracks were above average and it was cool to hear Rise although it definitely wasn’t his best verse. This will definitely stick around in my car for a while.

  9. Skins says:

This is RIDICULOUSLY DOPE, amazing mix!

Pizzo – was that Buckwild ‘Next Level’ remix official? Did it ever get a vinyl release? I MUST have that joint!

  10. Dayz says:

@TomL, I was thinking everything you said without even hearing it yet! I am sure you are spot on! I already have the song with Rise on it so that’s nothing new to me but it is a nice track! I could listen to new songs by Celph Titled and Buckwild all day every day! Their album is a bonafide Hip Hop classic and I will be listening to it 40 years from now! Not too many albums are “true” classics as that word has been played out in the Hip Hop vernacular years ago.

  11. Presto says:

uh, I guess I’m going to be listening to this for awhile.

  12. shook_one says:

    @khordkutta

i think shes the chick that used to be in all of the Big Pun promo posters/ads/etc

  13. DJ Pizzo says:

Nah, she’s a friend of mine. I think the Big Pun chick you are referring to is probably getting a little long in the tooth by now haha.

I have another classic hip-hop mix in mind, maybe I’ll start working on if this is well received.

  14. Skins says:

Pizzo – reposting my earlier question because I spent all weekend hunting for it, and am nowhere closer to knowing than where I was on Friday.

Was that Buckwild ‘Next Level’ remix official? Did it ever get a vinyl release? I MUST have that joint!

  15. DJ Pizzo says:

@skins.. my memory is a little hazy on that. It may have been this remix, http://www.discogs.com/Tha-Alkaholiks-The-Next-Level/master/60817, but this is listed as E-Swift as the producer, unless Loud made a mistake.

  16. Skins says:

Thanks Pizzo, after seeing the cover I think I may have that record somewhere in my stacks, I’ll go on the hunt. If it’s not on there, at least I have the track on the mixtape. Great work on that too, it’s been catching heavy rotation since last week!

  17. KC says:

Finally listened at the gym – great mix, P. Definitely well-received enough for you to go ahead and plan that next one.

  18. Ran Ran says:

This is then only music I’ve listened to this summer so far and enjoyed what I heard. Great example illustrating why rap music has fallen. Respect to Buckwild for giving me some tunes I can bump when the work week is finished.

  19. darootsfan80 says:

ha! Isn’t “What I Represent” from the America Is Dying Slowly compilation? Damn…I have to dust that off, there were a few sleepers on that. How did I not know Buck produced that track? This is def a great collection, some of the tracks I somehow managed to miss back in the day…well done!
