Someone is getting fired. To think that Atlantic almost didn’t put Lupe’s LASERS LP out. Poetic justice has been served, as the album’s lead single, The Show Goes On, which samples Modest Mouse’s “Float On”, has sold over 2 million copies in the U.S. Congrats, Lupe.
Sorry but the song sucks and I for one am done with Lupe… First album was tight and I thought he would be like the second coming of the native toungues… Second album was okay… Third album? Straight ass!!! He sold his soul with this commerical piece of trash! Boo Lupe!!! Had so much promise and you sold your soul to the man to get this crappy album out!!! Commerical success okay but lost his artistical integrity!!!
I am not a Lupe fan at all, but this is impressive (sales wise), especially in the current state of the industry
Actually Lupe had to conform to what the label wanted and they were RIGHT so if anything Lupe will probably have even less say in the next album…also Lupe HATED the album anyways….
I agree, if it wasn’t for the label… I doubt he would have sold even half of this amount
To me album sales in no way indicates that an artist makes quality music… So yeah the record company knew how to get hits from this guy but he sold his artistic integrity to do it… He lost this fan from this corny album regardles if he hated it too… Stand up for yourself and don’t be a puppet! …Hell if the record companies offered me mad loot I’d probably make the wackest songs you ever heard! LOL!
