Big K.R.I.T. is the latest artist to announce his Def Jam debut LP, Live From The Underground, for a September 27th release, joining 9th Wonder, Phonte Coleman, and J. Cole, who each share the date. Somebody’s gonna change their street date…

Yeah, the whole thing between rakim and dre was insane. The beats on the last rakim album were so weak too…

  • Dayz says:

Bet the Dre and Rakim album would have been, I guarantee, would have been a classic! Why did Dre not see it???

  • TomL says:

All I remember is Dre complaining about Rakim’s work ethic

  • Dayz says:

Yea Dre can say that until hes blue in the face as far as I am concerned… Detox should have came out at least 6 years ago and he should have already dropped another album… He is turning into the Howard Hughes of Hip Hop… He was once a brilliant business man now reduced to an insane recluse who thinks he is God’s gift to Hip Hop so he will hid from the spotlight and release nothing for over a decade and write and rewrite for years… Only to find that the stuff he finally brings to the table is absolute crap and no one cares anymore… To speak to your point I remember Dre saying something to that effect in an interview but I also think there was just major creative differences and neither wanted to budge on how the project was supposed to sound… Sidenote, can we get a Rakim and DJ Premier album??? I think my head would explode if this happened???

Rakim’s work ethic? He’s the greatest rapper of all time for fuck sakes, just give him beats and shut up
