We spoke with Statik Selektah exclusively last night about a wealth of new projects that he has in the works. He and Reks are working on a three part EP called Straight No Chaser, with part one dropping in the next few weeks. He is also working on a project with Slaine called State of Grace, while he and Action Bronson will team for an LP called Well Done. Statik and Termanology will also continue their recording sessions with an as of yet untitled follow-up LP to 1982.

Meanwhile, Statik is also working on his next album, Population Control, which will be released by Duck Down around the end of September. The album will feature a ton of collaborators, including Mac Miller, Freddie Gibbs, Big K.R.I.T., Fred the Godson, Cory Gunz, and others.

Finally, Statik is lending beats to the next album from one of the greatest emcees of all time… and we can’t say who.

It’s his moment… he should take advantage of it while it lasts. Hip hop is ruthless and once you’re off the radar, good luck getting back on
