Ras Kass discusses one of the more controversial tracks from his catalog, “Nature Of The Threat”, from the Soul On Ice LP.
Damn, it’s been 15 yrs already. I always loved “Nature of the Threat” for its ambition. Who the hell has made a song like that in music in general?
15 yrs… that’s some scary shit right there.
This along with Interview with a Vampire are my two favorite Ras Kass joint but he’s always been more than that to me. I guess that’s why it makes it hard to “market” Rassy cause he’s got some ignorant shit too. Like he says people either want him to be one thing or another.
I remember hearing this at a time when Ras Kass was just eating every track alive. He was so sick at the time, it seemed he could say no wrong. I looked forward to all his stuff.
As he said, it is very possible this had a negative effect on his career.
