Phife Dawg and Director Michael Rapaport sat down with Nick Huff Barili to talk about the new Tribe Called Quest documentary: Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest. Some of the topics they talked about include: Will Tribe ever make music together as a group? Why did Nas who started out as executive producer of the doc disappear from project? Why only Phife is doing press for the doc out of the whole group? What is missing from the documentary? What’s next for Phife Dawg? And much more!! This interview also contains clips from the documentary including, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Pharrel, Questlove, etc.

I think their chemistry is shot at this point

Look forward to Phife’s EP and album although he’s been talking about them for years so I won’t hold my breath waiting to ever hear them. I think ATCQ will probably never make another album or song together. I think the chemistry and vibe is gone and they all know how high the expectations are so it would be better to leave the legacy as is and not tarnish it with a sub-par performance… Man they were one of the best groups ever and wish they were still doing it tho… Miss them.
