Following the success of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Thone, many other rappers are following suit. Drake and Lil’ Wayne have announced that they will collaborate on an LP together, as have Cam’Ron and Jim Jones. Busta Rhymes is the latest to join the fray, as he recently revealed an interview with XXLMag.Com. But the question is, who?

“I’m not allowed to discuss that yet,” said Busta. “It’s something I’ve been waiting to do for 26 years with a friend of mine that I’ve known for 26 years. I’ve been professionally recording for 20 years, but I’ve been trying to get on about five or six years before I actually got on. This is one of the first people that I met.”

“We actually officially started three months ago,” he continued. “I got my solo album but we’re approaching the midway point of that collab album. It’s gonna be one of the most amazing situations I think I ever did. I haven’t had that kind of comfort recording in a long fucking time. Actually, I haven’t had this kind of comfort recording the way I have in the last year, year and half in my whole career. The dynamic of the ass beating that I’m gonna start giving out is gonna be at a whole ‘nother magnitude.”

Our guess? Q-Tip. Also, we’re still patiently waiting for Dr. Dre & Ice Cube’s Helter Skelter. It keeps getting pushed back, according to the guy at The Warehouse.

^Crazy talk, Busta may not have had as solid a full album as The Coming, but he’s had sick joints his whole career. That said, unless you can put me in a DeLorean and send me back to ’96 I really don’t see the point of a Busta and Tip album.

Again.. I ask these so called ‘hiphop fans’ why the !@#$ is there some kind of age restriction for hiphop? Why is there no point to Busta and Tip? Is there no point to the Rolling Stones, U2, Sade, Steele Pulse, etc. see what I am getting at?

Only in hiphop can artist not be relevant just due to age/longevity. Why?

Music is an art, there is no age time frame for art.

Yall letting the powers that be dictate how and who can perform hiphop while you have grown ass folks dropping new albums in other genres without a word said.

Busta and Tip ARE relevant period!
