In a recent interview with XXL, Kendrick Lamar revealed plans for his official solo debut, which may-or-may-not be on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath imprint. He spoke on working with both Pete Rock and Just Blaze for the highly anticipated project.

“We got some shit. It’s city-based for sure. It’s classic. It’s history-making shit. It’s Just Blaze, a nigga I been listening to since I was 13 when I started rhyming, listening to Jay and all those Rocafella albums,” he said in regards to Blaze. “I’m looking forward to working with Pete Rock. He just reached out to me. That feels muthafuckin’ great. I got to get back to him, so we can make it work.”

He also was asked about the long-rumored collaboration project with fellow XXL Freshman J. Cole.

“We’re still trying to formulate it and sit down in a neutral zone, where either one of us is moving and doing shows, interviews and press all the time. We want to lock ourselves in the studio and make it right. We got songs where we can actually formulate something, but we want it to be right,” he added.

Just Blaze gets shit done, and in historic fashion. So does Pete Rick. This should be right on the level with Saigon. This is one to keep an eye out for.

Side note. I hope this is NOT on dr dre’s aftermath imprint. Great albums have a way of just………..disappearing, and never being found again, sorta like the great city of Atlantis. Do yourself a favor Kendrick, stay away from aftermath and keep your masters at all costs. Jimmy Iovine is a fucking criminal!!!!
