haha how many years has Detox been on this list?
almost as long as mf doom ghost collabo
Looks like the Mic Tyson album is on the verge of becoming a repeat offender on this list as well.
Besides those mentioned, what do you guys think is the album least likely to come out?
My money is on Redman’s joint, but I’m hoping that nothing from Lil’ Lame, I mean Wayne comes out.
No Megaupload album?
Also, sign me up for all the Alchemist collabos
might be the first year the Weathermen album isn’t on the list. That’s 10 years “in the making” at least……well, obviously its not droppin ever
Nas dot com will never come out. I actually believe detox
is more likely to come out than the nas/com joint
Well, on stuff not coming out, I would put it on either ‘Detox’ or ‘G.O.O.D. Music Vol One’. Not to knock Kanye, but it’s hard enough to get the shops to stock regular releases. Compilations have a much harder time these days of garnering interest. Especially in the nobody buys music, ‘I want free sh*t’ society we live in now.
Damn…if even half of this stuff comes out this year, I’m gonna need to make room in my budget. No more starbucks for this cat…
I would say any album from Jay Electronica coming out next year would surprise me.
How come yall didn’t list Public Enemy? They have a joint coming out this year.
Don’t forget the Esoteric + Inspectah Deck Collabo, Get Busy Committee, Celph Titled – The Fresh Prince of Hell’s Lair
I’d say the least likely to drop are doom Starks & detox. I’m hoping that opio-vulture’s wisdom drops this year, a living legends album would be nice, haven’t heard any talk of one yet though. I’m sure big boi’s droppin’ an album this year, I wouldn’t bet on Andre 3000 putting out an album though. Might get a new album from guilty Simpson this year, maybe scarface too.
Premier vs. Pete Rock?
What about Ill Bill the grimy awards and La Coka masters of the drak arts? Ya’ll slippin
No Kendrick? are you serious?
Nas + Common – Nas Dot Com
Ghostface Killah + MF Doom – Doomstarks – Nature Sounds
Alchemist + Kool G. Rap – ????
Immortal Technique – The Middle Passage
D-Block + Ghostface + Raekwon + Cappadonna – Wu-Block
Lupe Fiasco + Pharrell – ????
Clipse Reunion LP
If I was a betting man I would say that these albums won’t come out this year.
Nice list but please let’s drop Detox as even an option. I won’t believe that album is coming out until I am holding it in my hands, even then I won’t believe it until I it play and I hear it… I am really excited to hear all of Action’s projects and GBC, Demigodz, Celph Titled and Army of the Pharoahs. I agree I don’t see the Nas Dot Com LP ever actually being made. Also hyped on DJ Premier’s LPs with Bumpy and KRS, should be classics. OC and Apollo Brown, wow, that is gonna be dope.
My pick for LPs not coming out different than anyone elses choices so far is Only Built For Cuban Linx 3 and Q-Tip’s new jawn… And yes Doomstarks ain’t never happening I got over that years ago…
Also stoked for Brother Ali and hopefully Blu with Madlib will be awesome, Blu is either one of the best or makes lame stuff, very hit or miss after his first couple LPs but hopefully this will be a return to form for him.
cant wait for the two new little wayne joints!! I am not a human being 2!!!!! oh shit how can he ever top the first one??? maybe he’ll incorporate some classical music or tribal jazz fusion
No the weeknd? or drake? surprised I am
Great list and as always cheers for the 2011 rap up
Cmon pizzo. Detox? Haha. Muddy waters 2 & Blackout 3. Common is wacker than Drake. I just want NaS solo
Opio’s Vulture’s Wisdom 2 is dropping March. Can’t wait, been waiting for years
I never believe it when artists signed to 2 different major labels say they’re making am albu
Together. Too much red tape, they could record it, good luck getting both labels to sign off on it. That nas & common album probably won’t happen unless nas signs to Warner bros after his tenure at def jam.
No Dilated Peoples?
True, some very dope stuff is (maybe) droppin this year… But what about:
Chino Xl / RICANstruction, Killah Priest / The Psychic World Of Walter Reed and the new album from Shabazz The Disciple.
Smart choice not to include madvillainy 2, who knows when if ever that’s coming out. More than enough good stuff coming out this year though.
Chino xl’s album is supposed to have a song w big pun and another with Obama !
I was hoping to see black & brown by self scientific and sick symphonies (psycho realm & street platoon)
at least action Bronson and Freddie gibbs will be killing shit this year!
Brother Ali is not exciting and Maino??
