Ras Kass has announced that he is no longer part of The Four Horsemen, a super group that also consists of Killah Priest, Canibus and Kurupt.

In May 2011, the group revealed that it would release it’s official album that summer, but the LP failed to surface. RZA was said to be producing the album, which was also rumored to have a collaborative track with Slaughterhouse.

Statement below.

“It’s been weighing heavy on me for a minute, but I have to make an announcement. After discussing with some of the people in my group and some of my other friends, things have just gotten a little too complicated and out of hand, and some things, I don’t agree with. And so I’m officially resigning out of the Horsemen. It is what it is. I’m not going to make too many more comments about it, but the bottom line is, I’m no longer part of the Horsemen. I have relationships with certain people, but some things are just too complicated and not worth the drama that’s constantly popping up. I stand firmly with dope lyricism, dope people and I think everybody’s talented, but at this particular point, there’s a lot of shit I don’t agree with, so I have to step out of it. All respect to everybody. I’m going to continue doing what I do, making my music and fucking with who I fuck with. I wish everybody the best, but I think this is the best decision for me as an artist and as a man. So there it goes. I am no longer part of Horsemen. One love, that’s it.”

I give respect to all 4 for doing what they been doing and not changing for anyone. So many artist change with the time but these guys kept it the same. Dont know if thats a good thing to most but I respect it. Would of gave this a listen to for sure with Rza on production. Who knows it could of been something refreshing. JMO/

@Model Citizen, no offense taken… We all are entitled to like what we like and as I said I have liked some of all four emcee’s material but they all have made more music I had no interest in than actually liked.

@dnpmonk25 saying respect to them for not changing for anyone? You obviously haven’t paid much attention to Ras Kass and Killah Priest. Even Ras Kass claims he dumbs down himself to get exposure.

man… why? because of CanIbus’ recent beefs with J-Cole and Royce et al. i love Rassy’s lyricism but, I’m not sure about this move. i think it was professional of him not to name names and elaborate further on why he is leaving, but at the same time , i want to know. why does everyone hate on Bis? i think emcees are threatened by his skills and fabricate and exaggerate on reasons to dis him, just like the 4,3,2,1 shit. Canibus was paying respect to all emcees on that track and L took it the wrong way….why???? nobody else did. He is one stupid MF if he thought Canibus got on a track with hip hop royalty to dis him!!! Canibus is mad cause the hip hop community tries to lock him out… now Rassy’s going to be a part of that??? still love rass kass but, really if my suspicions are correct, it’s a bitch move. Having said that though, i do feel like attaching the HRSMN name to a diss he directed at Slaughterhouse was not a good decision (HRSHU attack). if you have beef, YOU have beef. don’t drag other emcees into the crossfire. and oh, stop saying Canibus hasn’t made anything nice in a while… he drops, roughly, an album every year. if you’re not listening, don’t comment! Lyrical Law was tight! and @Craig you speak the truth.

I think he’s leaving because of Canibus beef with Slaughterhouse. but I don’t care what people think, Canibus will always be the best emcee out there. And there’s no discussion.
