This comes from the soundtrack to Max Payne 3, out now for PS3 & Xbox360 on RockStar Games.
This is dope, nice beat and Styles and Gibbs both came hard with it. I could do without the last verse since I don’t understand the language though, the dude might be nice but I have no way of knowing.
^ My thoughts exactly. The Ghost and Gangsta Gibbs drop on the beat very nicely though. I like that Statik legitimately just re-mixed the beat, in the most literal sense. I listened to the original, and it’s basically the same beat but Statik makes it hit muuuuuch harder with manipulation of the boards. Nice track.
Freddie Gibbs is a fuckin’ beast lyrically. It’s too bad he’s signed with Jeezy because I’m sure he’ll never put out a decent record with that label. When he’s on the right beat though he sounds amazing. I’m really looking forward to his shit with Madlib.
I was immediately sold on Gibbs when I first heard him on Kid Daytona’s Interlude tape, he’s too nasty, but you’re so right on the direction his albums will likely take. So yeah, the high hope is that feature verses and side projects will give him the chance to spit.
