Diplo-discovery Riff Raff talks with Pitchfork Selecta. In it, he reveals that he is working with Alchemist, Action Bronson, and Mac Miller. If you thought my interview with Alchemist was bugged, check this.
The off-the-top freestyle is pretty classic, we must say.
This kid is funny a fresh change as long as you don’t take serious
^ Well said, as long as you don’t take him too seriously, Riff Raff is damn near a national treasure.
Sorry I just cannot respect this dude. There are so many more talented artists out there that deserve the spotlight before this glorified comedy act joker of a wanna be rapper does. Dude is a goof ball. Can’t believe Action and ALC are down with this clown. Oh well he’s probably fun to party and get wasted with so if I was wasted chilling with this dude and he was kickin’ rhymes maybe I’d think he’s cool too but from an outside perspective this looks like a waste of lime light to me.
Yo I totally agree w/ @Dayz. Dood is a fuckin joke as an MC. I just don’t see the appeal at all.
That interview was awesome! I don’t think Riff Raff is looking for anyone’s respect as an emcee. @Bronson72, if Riff Raff would break character long enough to do so, I’m sure he would agree with you that he’s “a fuckin joke as an MC.” I mean look at his braids and beard, nobody looks THAT ridiculous and actually thinks its cool. I would put him more in Lonely Island territory. @Dayz, of course there are many emcees better than this dude out there, but I don’t think that Riff Raff is taking any legitimate emcee’s spotlight because he’s in a completely different lane. He is a clown, but that’s the whole point. If you don’t think his attempt at humor is funny than I think it’s fair to criticize that part of his schtick, but in my opinion, criticizing his rapping ability is like saying Hulk Hogan doesn’t have what it takes to make the Olympic wrestling team.
