Kendrick Lamar’s long-awaited Aftermath debut, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, is in stores today, and word is that XXL Magazine has given it the coveted “XXL” perfect rating. In other news, the album is expected to sell over 200k in it’s first week, but won’t score the #1 spot, as Taylor Swift’s Red will enter with over 1 million copies sold. Must be nice.

So how did Kendrick fare on the HipHopSite.Com rating scale? We’ll be revealing that by the end of the week….

I gots to say its a great album particularly the neptunes produced beat. It’s a little hard to digest I’d say for the average consumer looking for the ‘hot’ new album. But I’m not your average *****, no no I’m not your average *****!!!

I dug 4 tracks on there. People still check for XXL? Like they would have any objectivity when judging an Interscope artist anyway.

Need to give it a couple more rotations before making definitive statements, but as great as the good songs are, I find myself hitting the skip button more than expected. Happy with it overall though, definitely.

This album is a 7 out of 10 for me. KL is a dope Mc, and the concept of the album is pretty dope. The thing that keeps me from giving it a higher score is the average production and the guest features( except MC Eiht, he is still the shit).

I’m surprised with the lukewarm reception here, I didn’t like “Section 80″ at all to be honest, I think this record is pretty dope though. I like it more with each listen.
