Saigon sits in with The Breakfast Club, to speak on his new album, The Greatest Story Never Told Part 2: Bread & Circuses, explaining that he wants to “punch” rappers like Rick Ross and 2 Chainz that are making detrimental music aimed at today’s younger generation.
Couldn’t agree more. I feel old saying this, but garbage music with garbage message is detrimental to kids. I’m a social worker and I’ve worked with teens and many of them are really more impressionable than we might remember being when we were that age.
Slightly off-topic, it can’t be overstated how detrimental it was that Chris Brown went from being a bubblegum, teen R&B crooner to magically having “hip hop street cred” overnight because he beat up Rihanna. And Rihanna similarly should take some responsibility for her place as a role model and not take his punk ass back to show young girls that this is unacceptable behavior and a deal breaker, to say the least!
Oh, and Rick Ross – there is no better analogy than slave->inmate as overseer->corrections officer.
