“Some days I feel like I’ll do it, some days I don’t. Some days I feel like I don’t need to, some days I feel like I want to do it before I die. So, I don’t know where to fall. I am just hoping one day I get that inspiration,” he said at an event for Gillette’s eMO’gency Styler Tour, reports the Washington Post.

“It’s a feeling for me. Like, I can’t just throw out an album to be rapping,” he said. “And I don’t even know if it will be rap. I don’t even know what it will be,” said Andre. “It could be a rush situation. Like if I feel that feeling and I record an album in three days and I’m like, ‘This is what I want to say right now’ — that can happen, too.”

“I write all the time. … I actually stopped typing it in my phone because like a cloud is basically reading every thought that I have and I don’t like that,” he said. “So I went back to my paper and started writing.”

“Man, we’ve had a great ride. … Like when we got into it when we were high school kids and we just wanted to do something fun and push it, and if it’s not that then why do it?” he said.

“I’m not the type that prescribes to nostalgia, and most people say they want an OutKast album because they used to love it. Y’all don’t even know if y’all still love it. You just know you used to love it. But you may not like it now, who knows?”

Can someone pull this guy’s head out of his ass? A perfectly good rap career exchanged for a mediocre singing and acting career.

^^^ I’d rather have him keep his head in his ass then shit out some uninspired music he didn’t want to make just because people want him to do it. You can always tell when an artist is only doing it because other people won’t leave them alone about it. If he doesn’t have the passion for it I’d rather he just keep making razor commercials. When he feels like rapping again, I’ll still be here.

Agreed with @Mitch 3K I only want him and Big Boi to make more music if it comes naturally. I rather go back and listen to all the great material they already released then get a new LP that is a big disappointment. I am a fan who really really wants another LP but only if they want to do it for themselves first and foremost.

Dre is a real simple and classy dude. He has all the money he wants /needs. He just enjoys riding around Atlanta bumping instrumentals that the world unfortunately will never hear. I almost wanted to follow him once just to hear a few more seconds of a a booming piano track that could’ve easily been a Grammy-nominated single. Whether he releases something or not, he’ll always be one of the few rappers from my city who I am extremely proud to call a fellow Atlantan. Nobody represents the wide-ranging demographic of SW Atlanta like him. Unfortunately too many “artists” are too pussy to make intelligent music or simply dumb as a doorknob.

I would take a loose unorganized mixtape of unreleased solo material if an album doesn’t see the light of day, but that probably won’t happen.
