Brooklyn “joke-rap” trio Das Racist have parted ways, revealed this weekend, after Heems held down a Das Racist performance in Germany by himself, telling the crowd, “I’m going to do some Das Racist songs, but Das Racist is breaking up and we’re not a band anymore.”
Kool A.D. followed up with his own statement, confirming the break-up on Twitter, “For the record i quit das racist 2 months ago and was asked by our manager not to announce it yet. apparently @HIMANSHU wanted to do it tho.”
No reason has been revealed for the split.
Da Roundeye says: It was fun while it lasted. Heems & Kool A.D. complimented each other well. I hope their future endeavors are as entertaining.
Mitch 3K says: It’s hard to tell when these guys are being serious, side effect of the troll generation. These guys fool around so much I wouldn’t know whether to believe them if they stopped me on the street and said there had been a murder or summin, I’d be looking around for cameras to make sure I wasn’t on some troll reality show…..
