Talib Kweli recently spoke with Rolling Stone about the delays of his next solo LP, Prisoner Of Conscious, which has been moved to April 23rd, 2013. Delayed due to sample clearance issues, Kwel used the downtime to record two new songs for the album in December.

“I tried to focus more on the musicality of the album and make decisions based more on how the music feels, rather than make decisions based on what I wanted to say,” Kweli said. “This is the most time I’ve ever spent on a record.”

Guests slated to appear on the LP include Kendrick Lamar, Busta Rhymes, and Nelly, but Kwel says not to expect a Blackstar reunion anytime soon. While they did plan to release an Aretha Franklin tribute mixtape – and have recorded four tracks for it in 2011 – nothing has been worked on since. A Blackstar reunion is not completely ruled out, however.

“I would love to get back into it whenever he’s ready,” he told Rolling Stone.

I’m tired of all these teasin’ ass rappers…No one cares about any of their solo projects..come back with either Reflection Eternal (with real beats) or Black Star (with real beats) or both or just go away…and that goes for Tribe, Pharcyde, Slum Village, and any other dickhead group that broke up or just gave up…
