XXL Magazine has released their fourth annual “Freshmen 10″ list, which will appear in the May/June 2013 issue. The cover reveal today picks 11 “freshmen” discoveries of who might be the biggest new artists of the year. A list that saw artists like Wiz Khalifa, Danny Brown, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar and Macklemore in years past adds each Schoolboy Q & Ab-Soul of Kendrick Lamar’s TDE/Black Hippy fam, Trinidad Jame% (“All Gold Everything”), Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Logic, Kirko Bangz, Travi$ Scott, Angel Haze, and Las Vegas’ own Dizzy Wright, whom was the only artist voted in by fans. Troubled Chicago emcee Chief Keef got the honorable mention spot, coming in at #11.

Yeah, man, Trinidad James…is a joke. A lame one. A very tasteless lame joke of an emcee. But, that’s the state of the genre!

  • Hodges says:

Good to see Real Heads coming around on Earl at least. I came across OF by accident, but as soon as I heard the little nigga I knew he was a prodigy.

  • adam says:

They are about a year late on Action Bronson and Ab-Soul/Schoolboy Q. and than them and Joey Badass I don’t know or care about these other dudes.

  • Freshman_Woes says:

I agree…they need a late pass for all their best picks (Action, Q, Soul & Bada$$). I’ve still yet to meet anyone who knows who that other white kid is (Logic)?

  • Dayz says:

Logic has some good songs out there. Look him up on YouTube. I hate to compare artists but I’ll say if you don’t like Mac Miller you’ll probably be a hater of this guy too…
