My original The Arrival Of Kendrick Lamar mixtape got such a positive response, that I decided to do a sequel. Kendrick Lamar Is The Future is a nod to Whoo-Kid’s 50 Cent Is The Future mixtape, which dropped 10+ years ago, and laid the blueprint for his career. For the cover, we wanted to mirror the original G-Unit line-up from Curtis’ tape, so Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q stand in place of Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. This was intentional, as these two are the “future” of the TDE/Black Hippy movement. So Jay Rock wasn’t forgotten.
All of the tracks included on the new mix were released within the last year, including some b-sides, bonus tracks, remixes, guest shots, and Pizzo edits. Collaborators include 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Young Jeezy, Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, E-40, Papoose (!), Rockwilder, ¡Mayday!, A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Big K.R.I.T., Solange, T.I., B.o.B., Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay-Rock, Future, Juicy J, Game, Tank, Emeli Sande, Kid Cudi, Quadron, Blood Type, Bridgette Kelly, Gee Watts, and B. Martin.
I want my mix tapes to sound like albums, so this is paced and mixed as such. None of that screaming over the music, gunshot sound effect transition bullshit. Enjoy. – DJ Pizzo
Good Stuff. Can we get a Wu-Tang mix in honor of their upcoming album?
I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY wish these mixes were offered via separate tracks.
Nice pizzo thanks for this
