Wow, Rico, Kanye couldn’t hold Action Bronson’s jock on the mic, but I didn’t really care for SAAB stories, and Action is definitley starting to get very repetetive. But Action is old school grimy hip hop. Kanye has been way too pop sounding, and has never been even an above average mc, and making garbage like this isn’t going to change my opinion of him.

  • Rico says:

I agree with everything you said – I think Saab stories is cool mainly cuz I enjoy frauds music and I think the yeezus is an interesting listen – I’m not about to nominate him for this months hip hop quotable but to me it’s a good piece of music. Some say piece of shit – but to each his own.
    Grumpy old man alert:
I’m 37 so when we talk about pure good lyricism I gotta go back to 87kane ra and g rap and kris to -91 when organized first album came out, any of this newer stuff ain’t al that lyrical

  • The man the myth says:

I hear you man. I am 35 and grew up in the same era and love the same stuff as you. I agree too, that alot of this new stuff isn’t that lyrical and it also isn’t that musical either. I would rather hear those 90′s beats from Premo, Pete Rock, RZA, Early Stoupe, Beatminerz. Hell, even the west coast and down south had top notch beats. Dj Quik and Cold 187um were making funk that is light years more funky than anything out today. Pimp C, Suave House, and the Rap a lot production crew were making that southern funk that was so damn funky. Now everything from the south sounds generic, and overproduced. I have the grumpy old man alert to. I really liked Action Bronson when he first came out, cuz he took me back to that 90′s ethos, but yeah, all he talks about is food and drugs, it gets old quick.
