Famed hip hop artist and urban activist Immortal Technique shares his thoughts on the George Zimmerman trial and verdict, explaining what he meant when he said “Zimmerman is the new OJ.” Immortal Technique also reveals whether he thinks the trial will go to Civil Trial, what he thinks of Zimmerman supporters, and the conversations that should be brought out as a result of the trial.

Immortal is being very unfair and misleading here. Why don’t they ever give all the details of the case or EVER mention that Trayvon beat his ass. No rappers have the balls to take a different view on this case. Even though there are black people who do, but a rapper definitely wouldn’t do it publicly. It would kill their career with the black community. Most people keep their mouth shut if they support Zimmeran because of the emotions and racism from the other side.

I posted this on the Ali video, but I will copy paste a section here because Technique said EXACTLY something that I said there and I HAVE THE ANSWER TO to his question in this video, and to prove him wrong.
He asked “What if George Zimmerman was black, and Trayvon Martin was white. GUESS what? There is a very similar situation that happened a few years ago. I’m sure nobody knows the Roderick Scott case. Roderick Scott is a 42 year old black man who shot and killed a 17 year old unarmed white kid named Christopher Cervini. Here are some details below:
    http://www.mpnnow.com/news/x967378480/Roderick-Scott-I-had-to-protect-myself
That article was before trial began, but GUESS WHAT?? He was found NOT GUILTY in the name of self-defense.
Here is an article written after the verdict:
    http://rochester.ynn.com/content/top_stories/490926/jury-finds-roderick-scott-not-guilty/
So what does this say? What if George Zimmerman was black and Trayvon Martin was white? Well, as far as the jusitice system goes. THE EXACT SAME THING, and Roderick Scott didn’t even have to be attacked. Also, the obscurity, lack of media coverage, and lack of outrage of this case also shows what would happen if the races were reversed. I’ll stop there though, because things start to involve party politics at that point. It’s a real shame though that stories like this don’t get any coverage, only because bringing attention to cases like these at this point in time would help relieve unneeded racial tension in situations where race should have never been an issue to begin with.

You know my opinion atom on this whole case. We have so many real issues and real abuse to all of us regardless of race coming from our own government from NSA to IRS, and we waste time arguing over this stupid case. I am in the minority of my fellow people when I say that justice was definitely served here. GZ had all of the cards stacked against him, an overzelous prosection, the court of public opinion had already determined the verdict. To me, the people that disgust me are Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and especially the Ag Eric Holder. The fact that the DOJ can be pressured by the NAACP to put further charges of civil rights violations against GZ is an absolute travesty, an at the worst entirely illegal. This whole administartion makes me sick to my stomach, Malcom and Martin are spinning in their graves right now.

We all know that this case was made into a way bigger deal than it needed to be, and has now become something that is causing major racial tension. There were already attacks made last year in the name of the prophet Trayvon, and there have been a few already since the verdict. The blood is on these race-baiters hands.

Everything you said is 100 percent on point.

Atom. You are wrong, and I’m going to explain why. The example you have provided is extremely rare. When anyone comments about racism in America, they are speaking in a general sense. Yes, there will always be exceptions to the rule. But the fact is Zimmerman killed a 17 year old, unarmed child. And he got away with it. The “stand your ground” law should not have been applied to this case. Zimmerman profiled and proceeded to harass Trayvon when Zimmerman was specifically told by the 911 operator to leave Trayvon alone. Now as a 17 year old child, what are you told about adults who harass you? who follow you? You are told to avoid them, or run away from them. Trayvon try to do this and Zimmerman wouldn’t stop. And Zimmerman is wearing plain clothes and did not identify himself as anyone of authority. Now ask yourself, if you are a teenager, and a strange man won’t leave you alone…what would you do? Trayvon did what most of us would do. He punched and took him to the ground. Now granted, you could say that this was a mistake on Trayvon’s part, but is it a mistake that he deserved to die over? Zimmerman weighs some 200 pounds and he can’t throw a 17 year old kid off of him? And we all saw the supposed facial damage that Zimmerman had. What a joke that was. He has a fat lip and some small cuts and bruises. Zimmerman killed a 17 year, unarmed child. He deserves to be in jail for manslaughter at the very least. Zimmerman got away with murder. The almost all white jury got it wrong. And providing examples where black people got away with murder doesn’t prove anything. You can’t justify Zimmerman getting away with murder, by bringing up past examples of other murder cases. If you want to discuss other murder cases…go ahead. But in regards to Zimmerman, he got away with murdering, an unarmed 17 year old child. Period.

At PMWilson. You are highly uninformed with the details and facts of this case. I can tell you have not watched much if any of the ACTUAL TRIAL itself. You can watch the entire thing on youtube. I belive it’s under an account called THE COUNT or something. It’s hours upon hours of footage. Probably days of footage. I’ve watched the vast majority of it. Watch the actual evidence and facts presented in the trial, rather than what your friends, political party, and news tells you to believe. Then get back to me. If you are an intelligent person, you will come back apologizing and correcting yourself on many statements you made. Also, your rebuttal of me showing what happened when the races were reversed is not a rebuttal at all. It’s actually scary that you felt that was a good enough response to justify your narrative. It sounds like you have your mind made up and there is no amount of evidence on this planet that could possibly change your mind. Oh well. Good luck with that.
