During tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards, Eminem announced that he will release his next album, MMLP2 (Marshall Mathers LP 2), on November 5, 2013, and it will be executive prodcued by Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin. Eminem.Com (which used to be hosted right here, some years ago) shows artwork for the first single, “Berzerk”, which will drop this Tuesday.

I remember the days when hhs hosted the Eminem site. Those were the days. Did he lose touch with you guys?

Rubin pumped out some great stuff over his career, but I don’t know what he did to Jay-Z on his new album, because it is the first Jay-Z album I wasn’t a fan of. Also, both teaser trailers for Eminem’s new stuff is hardcore promoting BEATS BY DRE headphones. Similar to how Jay-Z’s new album was always promoted with the Samsung phone or whatever it was. The shamless advertising in modern hip hop (and in everything else) is getting out of hand.

Would love to hear Eminem work with DJ Premier. Rick Rubin has definitely done some good stuff in his career, but I am not that big a fan, and absolutely hated that new Jay Z album, and Dre has fallen so far that his production doesn’t even get me remotely amped up anymore. I’ll DL it, but not terribly optimistic.

I agree with you completely man the myth. It’s a real shame some of these amazing artists never get over Premier tracks. If I ever made it as a rapper and I had the opportunity to work with Premier, that is the ultimate.

In my opinion, I haven’t been hardcore into a Dre beat since like 1999. lol. Maybe even before that.
