I’ll be honest Tom, I wasn’t that impressed with Chronic 2001, the production was solid but that whole joint just bored me. Lyrically that shit was wack. I was more of a Dj Quik and Cold 187um fan than Dre anyway, but Doggystyle, Chronic, and NWA joints were classics and Dre was in his prime.
I am right there with you when you said that noone works with Preemo. If I was Jay or Eminem, I would say, look, I have more money than I know what to do with, I am going to make an album that is banger after banger. I would employ Preemo, Stoupe, Rza in his Prime, and I would make an incredible album. The beauty of the 90′s was that you didn’t have to sell out or water down your music, to get some love in the mainstream, nowadays, hip hop is a joke.
