Looks like we’re finally getting some movement on Wu-Tang Clan’s long awaited LP, A Better Tomorrow, as today a new single dropped for digital purchase. The track features vocals from Nathaniel, and verses from Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, and GZA/Genius. DJ Mathematics produces.
Gza dropped bombs on this, but damn that hook was awful, and I have never been a fan of r&b laced hip hop joints. Not a bad song, but nothing earth shattering. Not what I expected for the clan.
Wack
The clan as a group is in the front and superb. The song is garbage. R&B and hip hop go together when done correctly. The right coast is simply out of touch with how ish go. Please believe the Nate Doggs,Butch Cassidys,Devin the Dudes & Z-ros of the world go wreck a hook and hold the integrity of the art form down.
I agree youngplex, don’t forget Kokane in that mix, and I loved the old gangstarr and Wu collabs with Jodeci and Swv. I do agree with Funkdoctor that a lot of the R&B laced crap that’s out today just sucks. I am sorry, but I don’t want to hear R&B on a Wu -Tang album, side collabs are one thing, but on a Wu-tang joint, nah, nah, that ain’t for me. This song is not great. meth’s verse is decent, Deck is decent, Gza sounds pretty dope on this and I really want to hear that Dark Matter joint, but if this is the first single for the last Wu album, count me disappointed.
Yeah it’s like we already have that lady singing on the sample.
