I’ve done a dual review for Wu-Tang Clan’s A Better Tomorrow and Ghostface Killah’s 36 Seasons, however it is a very in-depth piece – 4500 words – which explores the history of the Wu-Tang Clan leading up to A Better Tomorrow, so this had to go over to Cuepoint, where you can read it in full. So consider this an album review slash thinkpiece on one of the greatest hip-hop groups of all time.
Hoping For A Better Tomorrow: How The Wu-Tang Clan Got It Wrong

@Wayne
That is one amazing album review. Great breakdown, and I agree that Ron Oneal is 5 stars. I was a bit shocked at the negative responses. This album, though not perfect, has a very mature feel. I do think that Miracle should be marked down in your review though for the terrible hook lol. But the sequencing, the messages, the old school hooks just made me appreciate this album even more. The opener was an amazing super hero like intro, then it slows down perfectly and picks up again to some fight music (pass the Heater). It steadies on towards a triumphant “saved the day” joint (a better tomorrow) winding down to a great conclusion (like ending credits). I mean, I seriously thought my taste was dissipating but your review re-enforced my opinion on this album. Mathematics finally crawled out of his slumber, U God shines exceptionally (and has been imo for a long time). Even Cappa was dope. Thank you Wayne. I could go on and on. I say this as a fan, and not a Stan (I can go on forever about disappointing Wu albums too). And sorry folks, 36 seasons was pretty terrible and Ghost seems to be whining more lately than rhyming. A step down from his previous amazing offering. Peace!
