We’ll keep doing this every 1000 fans, and these things will get cooler as the traffic grows, but we’re starting off with a classic that some of you might remember. One night in around 1997 (or maybe 1998), a trio of rising stars took over the Hot 97 airwaves and freestyled for a half-an-hour straight. What was great about this was that Canibus had a HUGE buzz at the time, and proceeded to embarass both X and Nore, who struggled to keep up with him. It’s ironic that Nore and DMX went on to be bigger “stars” than ‘Bus, but here was a brief moment in time when it seemed like he’d surpass them all.

A lot of people have been asking me to rip the old mixes and upload them, so here is the first of many. This is an old mix from 2006 or so, which was made with the intent of enhancing the bedroom experience. Fellas, I’m not going to say this mix will get you laid – that part is up to you – however putting this thing on at the right time should greatly increase your chances of getting laid again. Bad timing? TMZ broke news today that T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were arrested in Los Angeles last night for the alleged possession of a controlled substance. Police say they followed the scent of marijuna coming from a Maybach T.I. was driving on Sunset Boulevard around 10:18PM, causing them to be pulled over and searched. Inside the vehicle, police say they found a controlled substance “in the class of methamphetamines and ecstasy”.

The just married couple couldn’t have timed this worse, as Tip is currently on probation after a seven year prison stint on federal weapons charges. The two were booked on a felony possession of a controlled substance. They were released last night at 4:00 AM on a $10,000 bail. Hopefully he doesn’t have to change his upcoming album title to King Re-Caged.
