Bay Area rap outfit, The Pack, return with their second full length LP, Wolfpack Party, following their 2007 LP Based Boys, which expanded on their debut EP, Skateboards 2 Scrapers. It’s been four years since their debut hit single, “Vans”, and The Pack has gained more publicity for the antics of Lil’ B than any song they’ve recorded for this album, which opened with a paltry 843 copies sold in it’s first week. It’s rare that after three albums and an EP a band can maintain such a distinctive sound. But the Budos Band are masters of combining nearly every genre that gave birth to hip hop in to one sonic punch to the stomach that never felt so good. They manage to play elements of jazz, afrobeat, funk and soul to with nearly every instrument they can find and twist and turn every genre upside down. [cont.]

Uh… Is this the pot calling the kettle wack? DMX drops knowledge after St. Louis Hot 104.1 plays Plies “Bruh Bruh”, and is asked whom he thinks is the worst rapper out right now.

“‘Bruh Bruh?’ Are you serious? That has to be one of the worst. How do you even say that, or spell that? And, I’m looking at how its spelled,” said X.”We as artists are teachers. And if you teaching people to spell like that and talk like that, then you’re dumber than the people you’re supposed to be teaching. There’s a difference between doing wrong and being wrong. That ain’t right,” X added.

Here is a classic session from The Wake Up Show, that took place around 1996. This session has been chopped up for the show’s freestyle CD series, but here is the full, uncut session which features each Jurassic 5, Al Tariq (Beatnuts), Grav (Correct Records), and Mykill Miers. Some of the best beats of the era are featured in this session, and Chali 2na outshines them all.

For all Native Tongue supporters that wonder how it’s youngest member Chi Ali is holding up in prison, this is a must see!

Physically: Chi looks healthy, not a day older than when he went in. Mentally: He sounds focused, well-read, and remorseful.
Spiritually: Chi seems to have his priorities in a positive place.

Chi Ali is proof that change doesn’t start from political campaigns, but from within your own heart.

09.06.2010 DJ Pizzo – “Aural Sex” (Mixtape)
1 Comment » DJ Pizzo

A lot of people have been asking me to rip the old mixes and upload them, so here is the first of many. This is an old mix from 2006 or so, which was made with the intent of enhancing the bedroom experience. Fellas, I’m not going to say this mix will get you laid – that part is up to you – however putting this thing on at the right time should greatly increase your chances of getting laid again. There’s a second volume of the Aural Sex series that I did a year or two after that, which I’ll post up later. Enjoy.
