The latest from the Jeezy’s much anticipated Thug Motivation 103 is about alcohol-induced amnesia which of course leads to a menage a trois and shameless balling, ‘house stupid dumb big, my rooms got rooms” (The Recession was the LAST album). Cool song but it falls short compared to monster singles from previous efforts. Might also help if Plies’ got drunk and lost his mind AFTER he recorded his verse.

It’s like the 90′s again when you hear Jojo Pellegrino spit. On “Devastate” he takes you on a journey through the streets, the cipher, the industry, and even Haiti. Producer Frank Dukes also does his thing, creating a fresh blend of creeping bass lines and sped-up vocals. Look forward to that Hurricane Pelly mixtape and the Real Spit album coming soon. JoJo Pelligrino – “Talk My Shit” (MP3)

Not sure who produced this joint but I wouldn’t be surprised if it dictated the subject matter. When you hear those guitars, you’ll want to reminisce. When you hear the songstress blessing the hook with that Motherly vibe, you’ll want to shed a tear. Lyrically, all three emcees come correct and spit with a lot of character. It’s one of those rare songs where you don’t even want to argue over who spit the best verse. Just some good music.

Killer Mike + Ludacris + The Game “My Nigga” (MP3)

If there’s a category of music made spefically for the headphones, there’s definitely room for that stadium status. The line up for The Crowd Control Tour (Kidz in the Hall, 88 Keys, Donnis, and Izza Kizza) drop a posse cut before their first spot in New York this weekend. While these verses aren’t their best, they fit well with the big sounds of the 88 Keys and Double 0 produced instrumental, and will no doubt incite the crowd.

“It’s been a mufuckin’ minute niggas, how you been?”

Ironically, the Hip Hop Frosty, Young Jeezy, decides to make his return during the last few days of Winter. The new track is called “Trap or Die 2 Reloaded” and is a departure from his usual formula as he spits three minutes of straight trap muzik, no hooks. The Zaytoven produced beat is a medley of brass and helicopter propellers, signaling the return of the Spring season. Here come the birds. Taken from the forthcoming mixtape.

Devin the Dude might be the only rapper who can make a motivational weed song. On his latest track “What I Be On” he rhymes “I stay on my Ps and Qs” with “I stay on my weed and booze”. Oxymoron or just another man’s way of doing things? Either way, the quirky Reggie Coby produced track bumps as Devin follows a nontraditional song format to lift your spirits. Look forward to that Suite 420 album which is sure to be a breath of fresh — you already know.
