Eddie B and Harry Fraud celebrate Shark Week.

Eddie B. & Harry Fraud are excited to release their brand new free EP, Horsepower. The project, which includes instrumental versions for each of the tracks, also includes features from Action Bronson, Meyhem Lauren, Apathy, Maffew Ragazino, Adrian Lau, and Shabaam Sahdeeq.

Eddie B. & Harry Fraud are longtime childhood friends and collaborators, with the rapper/producer pair having previously collaborated on 2011’s The Lucky 7 EP. Their collaborative efforts have continued since, and while Eddie & Fraud will release a retail album, Paper, Piff, And Polo, via Man Bites Dog Records this summer, this Horsepower EP serves as a warm-up, a way for fans to get familiar.

And Horsepower, at 10 tracks, is a perfect introduction for the uninitiated. Fraud, who’s produced for the likes of French Montana, Curren$y, Smoke DZA, Action Bronson, and plenty more, pulls no stops on Horsepower, serving up a collection of hard-hitting, soulful yet gritty tracks, and Eddie B. takes full control of the tracks, ranging from a silky laid-back flow on tracks like “Courage,” and flipping that easily to a quick-time whisper flow on tracks like “Marvelous.”

Following last week’s release of lead single “Courage,” Eddie and Harry are releasing the EP’s second single, “Marvelous,” which was premiered by MTV Hive and features fellow NY rapper Action Bronson.

While “Courage” carried a more slowed, deliberate pace, driven by Fraud’s creeping chops and Eddie’s spaced out bars, “Marvelous” carries a quicker tempo, which does well, in contrast to “Courage” in showing off Eddie B’s diversity and ability to flip flows . The hook, built around a sampled lyric from Raekwon’s classic “Rainy Dayz” verse, sets the tone for the track, as Eddie and Action trade impressive bars. “I just listen to the beat,” says Eddie, “and it instructs me what to do.”

Over the past two years, Harry Fraud has proved himself as one of the most diverse and talented producers in hip-hop, with a range that extends from mainstream hits, like French Montana’s “Shot Caller,” to blunted soul, including his work with artists like Action Bronson, Curren$y, and others. Along the way Fraud has also proved himself as a bit of a throwback – he’s one of the few new producers in rap capable of helming the production for a full project.

Now, Harry Fraud is excited to introduce the world to his new artist, the first signed to his Surf School label, Eddie B. Together, and in conjunction with Man Bites Dog Records, the two will be releasing an LP, Paper, Piff, And Polo, this spring, but first they’re giving fans a free EP, Horsepower, which will be released for free at this year’s SXSW Music Festival. Today, Eddie B & Harry Fraud are releasing the first single from that free EP, “Courage.”

The song, premiered this morning by VICE’s Noisey Music, is driven forward by Fraud’s production – slowed, pitched soul chops; wailing blues guitar and screeching organs; sparse 808′s and snares – and Eddie B, with a supremely confident, smooth flow, with slick lines like, “Try to stop my cash flow/I’ll lay you on the asphalt/look you in the face and tell you it was your dumb ass fault.” Eddie B cites frustration as one of the main inspirations for the song, defiantly proclaiming, simply, “I am a force to be reckoned with.”
