Whether you were a tagger, a b-boy/girl or a Hip-Hop head, The Artifacts were one of the best to do it on the underground scene back in the day. Its been nearly 20 years since the release of their debut album Between a Rock and a Hard Place, and if you’re curious to know how the former Boom Skwad representative El Da Sensei holds up on the mic in 2014, you’ll see that he hasn’t lost a step with his latest effort “Show Stoppa.” Featuring a sparse and bouncy beat with sharp cuts supplied by DJ Devastate, the jam has the New Jeruz native dropping bombs like it was 94′ all over again. “Show Stoppa” is taken from Coalmine Records’ forthcoming compilation album Unearthed (Mixed by DJ Revolution) which is scheduled to drop on May 13th.

“On The Rise” is now the second single to be released by The Immortals Project f/ El Da Sensei. Following up their most recent leak “Affirmative Action”, which raced up the college hip-hop music charts since its debut (currently 12th and climbing).

“On The Rise” is the track that helped set the tone for their upcoming album, “Rogue Agents,” as its the first track that El Da Sensei & Duplicuts chiseled during their recording process for the Rogue Agents album, “On The Rise” has the stark-yet-polished production that perfectly showcases El Da Sensei’s in-your-face songwriting and vocal performances. With a lively interplay based on Duplicuts’ drum arrangements which are punctuated by horn blasts and a slithering, menacing guitar riff, the track has room to breathe which allows for El’s knack of forceful rhyme execution.

The song is yet another example of this duo’s unique emcee/producer chemistry. The track even has a ‘beats-only” extended play segment after El’s final hook to give DJ’s some room to play.

“Affirmative Action” is the first song off of the Immortals Project’s upcoming album “Rogue Agents” and it shows what a tailor made track for an emcee like El Da Sensei can do to enhance what the song ultimately becomes. El Da Sensei and Duplicuts, operate on this song like a Navy Seal Team with expertly written rhymes to coincide with finely-tuned beats. Currently consisting of veteran emcee El Da Sensei and beatmaker/producer Duplicuts as the central members, The Immortals Project is based on a rotating membership with the end goal of making music where sonic mastery and laser guided lyrics all combine to atom-splitting precision.
