His own personal history remains deeply entwined with that of Cash Money Records. Juvenile was the label’s very first artist to earn a platinum certification with the 1998 classic 400 Degreez, which yielded the smash singles “Back That Azz Up,” “Ha”, and “Follow Me Now.” Selling over four million copies in the United States alone, it remains not only his best-selling full-length offering to date but the label’s as well. His last album for Cash Money Records, 2003’s Juve The Great, went platinum and spawned the hit “Slow Motion” featuring Soulja Slim. Juvenile made his solo debut for the company on Solja Rags in 1997 and helped comprise the chart-topping quartet the Hot Boys with Lil Wayne, B.G., and Turk.

“It feels like coming home,” says Juvenile. “I’d always bump into ‘Slim’ and ‘Baby’ over the last few years. If they had an event or something they wanted me to be a part of, I would be there in good spirit and faith. We were always talking. That just led to us sharing more of a collective vision. Now, we’re here. It’s exciting. I want to reinvent myself, and they’re giving me the stage to do that. I didn’t sign a record deal where I’m going to leave in two or three years. I’m retiring at Cash Money. I’m never leaving.”

“We’ve been talking for a few years,” comments Cash Money Records co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams. “We wanted to do this the right way at the right time with the right records. We’ve got those records now. Now is the perfect time for us to get back together at this point in our careers. Some people might call it a comeback. I look at it like, ‘We’ve got good work to do and great music to make,’ and we’re going to do it as a team. I’m excited.”

Co-founder Ronald “Slim” Williams adds, “Juvenile’s always been a part of this family. That’s never changed, and it never will. He helped bring our company to life. It’s a privilege to work with him once more and make history together again.”

For Juvenile, this reunion stands dedicated to one group in particular.

“This is really happening because of the fans,” he goes on. “They kept asking for it on-line and anytime I was out. I can proudly say I’m a product of the fans. They’re going to feel like they’re part of what we’re doing now, and that’s what I want them to feel like. This is all for y’all.”
