Legendary emcee Busta Rhymes speaks on a rough time in his life when his group, Leaders of the New School, was breaking up around the same time of his first son’s death. Busta reveals that they finally “let the dumb stuff go,” and moved on from their differences, but doesn’t know if they’ll ever record together again.

Here’s a highlight reel of Busta Rhymes amazing peformance from the Brooklyn Hip-Hop fest, which saw him reuniting with Leaders of The New School for the first time in 20 years. Also present are each A Tribe Called Quest, Lil Fame of M.O.P., Buckshot, Smif-N-Wessun, Slick Rick, Reek Da Villain, J. Doe. We can’t say we’ve ever seen “Scenario” performed with this many original members live on the song.

The Revive Da Live Big Band paid tribute to legendary hip-hop act A Tribe Called Quest at Harlem Stage in New York recently. Guests such as Buckshot, Sadat X, Charlie Brown & Dinco D of Leaders of the New School, and Dres of Black Sheep performed some of Tribe’s most memorable hits.

They also touch upon the original “Scenario” recording sessions, and the lost versions of the track with members of Tribe, Leaders, De La Soul, and Black Sheep. Tomorrow night at The Knitting Factory in NYC, a reunited Leaders of the New School will hit the stage together for the first time in 15 years. But will Busta be present? The above promo video – shot over a year ago – shows each Charlie Brown, Dinco D, and Milo freestyling in the studio together, without Busta Rhymes. While we are excited to see the band back together, the show will not be complete without an appearance from the Dungeon Dragon. Perhaps he will surprise the rap world and make an appearance. Bury the hatchet, guys, at least for one night.
