All the right components are there – R&B croonings on the chorus (weak vocalist but you can forgive her since she’s not too prominent), easy hook to remember (“it’s on!”), a slick, post-Pete Rock track by 1Eye and Fuol’s rappin’ about the peeps around his way and coming up from the streets (familiar narrative but it gets the job done). The song is very NY-centric in its appeal yet that seems to add to its luster rather than detract. It’s not deep, it’s not sizzling yet it simply works as one of those songs that you could see rising up the charts or blowing up the club. Didn’t know Fuol had it in him. Longevity Index: Three months.
