The official press release reads as follows….
Grammy-winning, platinum Houston artist, Chamillionaire, officially hit the road today, embarking on his “In Love With My Money” tour with former group member, Paul Wall – first stop, Austin, Texas for their headlining gig at SXSW. The timing couldn’t be more perfect as the release date for his long-awaited third album, Venom, was officially slated this week for June 22nd on Chamillitary/Universal Republic with a first single, artwork and tracklisting to be forthcoming shortly.
From Austin, where Cham and Paul will share the stage with Trae Tha Truth, Chalie Boy, Dorrough and a host of other Texas performers, the tour will make stops at L.A.’s House of Blues this Sunday, March 21st and route through 19 other cities including Vegas, San Francisco and Portland. The “In Love With My Money” tour is Chamillionaire and Paul Wall’s first in over 7 years. Prior to their successful careers as major label solo artists, Cham and Paul enjoyed enourmous independent success with albums like “Get Ya Mind Correct”, a release whose success brought the majors calling. Since then there have been Grammys, MTV and BET Awards and multi-platinum sales. Despite all of that though, early fans of both artists have clamored for a collaboration from the two since they split.
Those attending the SXSW festival will get their first taste of the chemistry that made Chamillionaire and Paul Wall great as a group tonight at La Zona Rosa, 612 W. 4th Street. The show is all ages. The remaining dates and cities are below with ticket information.
