J. Dilla – “Clap Your Hands (Freestyle)”

Bling47 tells us:

I got this one on a cassette from T3 circa 1997. I’m not sure what it was for, or why Dilla had this on tape, but I thought it was hilarious. “Shut the Fuck Up and listen to this… this.” This kind of style was typical for our crew at this time – we were just finishing up the Fantastic Vol 1 album. It was never about what they said – but instead how they said it. We called it “R.A.W.” – Rugged And wild. And that is exactly what this one is – tape hiss and all.

Boogie Down Productions – “Drug Dealer (Prince Paul’s 1991 Rough Mix)”

Prince Paul writes:

This one of a few songs I did for the “sex and violence album” . For reasons unknown I never got a chance to fully complete the production on these songs and thus poor mixes were ultimately released to the public . When I hear those songs I cringe .. I do wish I could turn back the hands of time and finish these recordings . Hope you enjoy these . More to come on the unreleased Prince Paul Collection . Please share and check out other rare releases on this page . Negroes On Ice !

Another outtake from Com’s The Dreamer/ The Believer, which is on track to sell between 55-65k units in it’s first week. We can do better than that – Young Jeezy’s TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition is set to do 200-225k. If you don’t support it, don’t complain that it’s dead….

Big Daddy Kane – “It’s A Big Daddy Thing (Prince Paul’s 1989 Demo Mix)”

Another one from Prince Paul’s unreleased archive. He tells us:

This is a Song I did for Kane in 1989 which is the title track of his album ” Its a Big Daddy Thing ” . At this point in my career this was a big highlight to work with Kane and there was definitely a mutual respect for each others talents . This was our first time working together and I have to say Kane is truly genius a funny guy and a pleasure to work with . Listening back to this song I really wish I could have made the production better . Keep in mind this was just a rough mix , the better mixed version is on the album . Please share this . Enjoy the Prince Paul unreleased series ..

Aesop Rock + Eyedea + Slug – “Thorns” (prod. Blockhead)

From 900Bats

This is Aesop Rock, Eyedea, and Slug, rapping on a Blockhead beat in about 1999 or 2000. Huge shout to Despot for holding on to this all these years. This beat later appeared on Aesop Rock’s Labor Days LP as Bent Life (Feat. C-Rayz Walz). Here is a few words from Aes –

“This was one of the songs we had recorded on what I believe was Slug and Eyedea’s first trip to NYC. If memory serves, we ended up not keeping it because it didn’t really have any direction or structure – it was more just us 4 bugging out and getting to know each other. The same trip yielded “Missed by a Mile” with the same line-up, as well as another one or two that never saw the light of day. As my deadline for Labor Days was approaching I knew I wanted to use the beat for my record, so this version was dismantled.”

We love you, Mikey.

Gravediggaz – “The House That Hatred Built” (1992 Demo)

Prince Paul writes:

This is the First song we recorded as the Gravediggaz in 92″ . It was the intro to our demo and it was actually recorded the day I introduced these guys to each other at my house . This track never made the album but It was one of my favorite productions. This was the track that started it all .. RIP Poetic . Enjoy

Dun Fact: In the UK, the 6 Feet Deep LP was called Niggamortis and released with an extra track, “Freak The Sorceress”, as seen above.

Presenting The Most Disturbing Kool G. Rap Song Ever.

By DJ Pizzo

It’s called “Hey Mister”. This track was originally recorded in 1995, and curiously left off of the 4,5,6 LP. Gee, why would the label want to leave this track off the LP? Well, because it’s about beating the shit out of your woman in public, and then raping her.

It was played on the Stretch and Bobbito show some years ago, with Stretch speaking over the top of it, suggesting “The opinions of Kool G. Rap do not necessarily represent those of WKCR, Stretch and Bobbito or it’s affiliates”.

A completely ridiculous, over the top gem that you’ll only appreciate if you have a history of following G. Rap.

Z-Trip writes:

I was always a big Nirvana fan. When I first started playing “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in my sets the audience went crazy. I did get a lot of shit from other DJs at the time….now everyone plays it. Ha! When I was asked to remix Nirvana’s “Lounge Act,” I couldn’t have been more honored. This remix was originally released on the EA Skate soundtrack. You’ve got 48 hours to DL it, then it goes away again. So DL and celebrate Nirvana’s Nevermind 20th Anniversary.

3rd Bass – “Green Eggs & Swine (Prince Paul Demo Mix)”

Green Eggs and Swine (unreleased original mix 1990 ) 3rd bass / Prince Paul by Prince Paul on Mixcloud

DJ Pizzo is a bit obsessed with unreleased 90′s gems, especially from 3rd Bass. Prince Paul just unearthed this alternate mix of Green Eggs & Swine for the first time ever via his MixCloud page. He writes:

Green eggs and swine , this was a song that was recorded for the derelicts of dialect album . Unfortunately this mix never made the album but was one of my favorites . The song is a bit too long but this was 1990 hip hop style production ..Hopefully you will enjoy the Prince Paul unreleased series of goodies more to come ! Why let it rot .. share music ..

Thank you Prince Paul.
