Rap sequels are rarely good, nor or cover albums (In The Beginning…There Was Rap, anyone?), but sometimes artists feel the need to do these types of things to remind their audience of their classics. AZ says he’s got Pete Rock, Buckwild, Moss, Frank Duke, lined up for Doe Or Die 2, and he’s trying to get Premier and Kanye West. Meanwhile, The Firm 2 is underway, with joints recorded between AZ, Foxy, Cormega, and Nature – but nothing has been done with Nas yet.

On June 30th, E1 Music will release the new album from “Wu-Tang”, entitled “Chamber Music”. That is not to be confused with The Wu-Tang Clan, it’s just labeled as “Wu-Tang”. Any time you talk about AZ, you have to start by bringing up his unforgettable verse on Nas’ Illimatic some 14 years ago.  While that indelible verse is a classic hip hop moment, the mere fact that you have to reference it every time says something about what AZ has been up to since then. [cont.]

AZ has not had the best of luck.  Back on Illmatic, one would have thought that he would be mentioned in the same breath as some of the peers who went on to become icons in hip-hop (most notably 2Pac, Biggie, and Nas). And why not?  Sosa has displayed various projects of his own as [cont.]
