Like Biggie, Big Pun was about to drop is second album, Yeaah Baby, when death came too soon. The first single, “Leatherface” is a perfect example of the lyrical terrorism that Punisher was responsible for. The guitar sample that carries this one is so dope, along with vocal samples either from Scarface or Texas Chainsaw Massacre (can’t place ‘em off the top). The great thing about this is that while Pun is talking about performing “surgery with a chainsaw”, his thugisms are spit with a sense of humor, and aren’t really meant to be taken seriously, unlike ridiculous superthugs like The Murderers or DMX. Rest In Peace.
