The Bay Area’s Mystik Journeymen return with yet another project, keeping the spirit of true underground hip-hop alive. If you have never heard these cats before, just imagine a few frustrated, unsigned and hella broke brothers coming from the Bay, with more to say than the average player the town is know for. The formula here is simple, beats from the deepest cellars, with a little bit of bump to them, and with rhymes covering their various frustrations in hip-hop, wheather it be that brother who screams “West Coast” 37 times in a song, the punk ass A&R who slept on them, or the kids in other countries talking about “you n****’s.” Standout cuts include “The Firefly Rebellion”, “So Much Soul”, “Creators Of Destiny”, and “Voices” with Living Legends. Overall, this is another satisfying fix from the Mystik Journeymen, this time on CD.
