I’m not sure if Lord Digga is actually a part of this group, as he is featured on both sides – “King Kong Niggaz” is a pretty obvious thug anthem, and the production may turn a few underground cats away, but you can’t deny the chemistry between Lord Have Mercy and this track. His low pitched grunts, and vocals add dimension to, and actually become one with the track. I actually prefered the more underground b-side “RoseWood” which brings back Digga’s sound last heard on “Sacks 5th Ave” Dark, moody, late night subway basement production, while Digga and crew speak on black on black crime.
