New indy crew from Philly steps up with a new 12″ worth a few spins from backpackers and bedroom DJ’s worldwide. “Rationalize ” is produced by the brother ?uestlove of The Roots, refreaking a piano sample last head on J-Live’s “Braggin’ Writes Remix”. Although in true Roots fashion, ?uest flips it, adding a neo Native Tongue bassline. But the A-side attraction is not all the single offers, with the b-side’s “Human Condition”. This track features up-tempo drums, yet a relaxing selection of samples, which as a combination easily eliminates the problem of being another sleepy underground track. These MC’s still sound like they need polishing, but if they keep doing good records like this, they may make a significant enough impact to pay attention to.
