Who is Que. D? Little brother to Slum Village frontman Jay Dee, so you can imagine what kind of vibe this record is on. “Supa Shit” is an easy head-nodder propelled by some simple guitar licks and Jay Dee’s trademark snares. Nothing super-spectacular, but followers of SV will be all over it. “Rock Box” is a little more vibey, as Que switches up his flow to reflect ’87, while “Cash Flow” follows the same formula, with a nice piano behind it. Que is no super-lyricist, but who can be mad at Jay Dee’s always cool production? Spin these tracks next to J-88, Phat Kat, and Bahamadia and they’ll fit right in.
