In a recent interview, Outkast’s Big Boi spilled new details on his forthcoming solo album, Sir Luscious Leftfoot: The Son Of Chico Dusty. The album will apparently focus on the more “mature” side of Big Boi (what have we been getting thus far?) and will feature 15 tracks, mostly funk-based, but also built around “hardcore beats”. Guests will include T.I. Too $hort, George Clinton, Andre 3000 & Raekwon (“Royal Flush”) and Mary J. Blige, who helped on the album’s debut video “Sumthin’s Gotta Give”.

In other Outkast news, Andre 3000 is working on his solo album, which will be released separately from Big Boi’s. After that is complete, Outkast will do rejoin for their next group effort. Big Boi expects to see all three projects drop within the next two years.

This is all according to Big Boi, of course. Last we heard, Big Boi planned to drop his album “Summer 2009″, but here we are midway though June, with no release date. Ultimately it’s up to the label when this album will drop, and they will usually require a hit single before taking a risk on an album release. Who wants to put money on this album being delayed indefinitely and packaged or piggy-backed with Andre 3000′s? – DJ Pizzo
